JOB TITLE:Account Manager – Personal Care (Cosmetic) Ingredients

LOCATION:

Northeast USA (NY/NJ/PA/CT preferred)

SALARY:

$70-95K base plus bonus plus car allowance and home office

 

SCOPE OF JOB:

Our client is a global supplier of specialty ingredients for the cosmetic and specialty chemical industries whose products contribute in a major way to the success of the world’s favorite lotions, creams, shampoos, related cosmetic items  We are currently seeking an outgoing, self-motivated and disciplined individual for the following position:  Account Manager, East Coast.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Prospect and develop sales of specialty chemical ingredients to end users (manufactures) and contract packagers in the personal care and cosmetic industry. Call on customers like Revlon, Avon, Loreal/Cosmair, Kolmar as well as medium and smaller sized manufacturers.

· Manage a geographical territory from a home based office. 

· Serves as an industry expert monitoring competitive activity, trends and developments. 

· Provide timely data back to the management team for action.

 MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· BS/BA in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or other Life Science is preferred

· Minimum of 5 years experience in a sales, sales management, product development, or technical support role within the personal care or cosmetic ingredients market

· Candidates must have technical sales aptitude and understand principles and applications of cosmetic chemistry.

· The ability to prospect, aggressively cold call and quickly determine the potential of an opportunity is essential.

· Strong analytical skills should be complimented by an aggressive and solution oriented track record.

· Ability to travel 50% of the time

 

Skills and Abilities:

Proficient in Microsoft applications.   Good interpersonal and communication skills. 

Good detail orientation.     Expert in negotiation, sales practices, and techniques.
