Account Executive, Symphony NYC Metro area & Long Island
Responsible for the placement and implementation of H&E instrumentation and consumables into qualified accounts and the development of business within new and/or existing accounts. These accounts are identified as being qualified by supplemental Ventana resources as having met the ideal customer criteria for this product line.
Include the following:
· Develops and implements strategic sales plans for growing business in accounts.
· Grow and protect current instrument and reagent business as described in yearly sales goals
· Enhances visibility and VMSI image within all accounts.
· Work, as required, and maintain a positive working relationship with the complimentary Advanced Staining team as well as other organizational units within Ventana (Marketing, Financing, Accounting, Customer Service, Technical Control Center, Human Resources, etc.) in order to support, maintain, and grow the business and meet the company's objectives, vision, and mission.
· Works with Healthcare Systems Group to formulate strategy in GPO / IDN opportunities
· Develops relationships with key thought leaders and decision makers in major cancer institutions.
· Travels extensively throughout the assigned region. Travel may include extended overnight stays.
· Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Functions:
- Conform to the standards set forth in the company operating procedures.
- Territory forecasting
- Meet company administrative requirements.
- Sells Ventana products within territory.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers.
- Develops and implements strategic plans for maintaining and growing business in territory.
- Displays and demonstrates instrument product line.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
- Work, as required and maintain a positive working relationship with other organizational units within Ventana (Marketing, Financing, Accounting, Customer Service, Technical Control Center, Human Resources, etc.) in order to support, maintain, and grow the business and meet the company's objectives, vision, and mission.
- Meets companies business and administrative requirements.
- Monitors territory reagent business/trends.
- Develops and maintains relationships and maintains VMSI image with customer.
- Works with Technical Marketing Representative.
- Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
- Establishes local relationships and maintains VMSI image with customers.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Participation in trade shows as required.
- Mentors new or inexperienced Account Executives within the region.
Accountability:
- Assigned sales budget and goals
- Maintains President's Club status
Formal Training/Education:
A four-year degree from a college or university
Experience:
Must have demonstrated ability to be successful in Account Management and Strategic Selling in a complex selling environment. A minimum of two and a half years of successful Ventana Account Executive experience or three years of directly related industry selling experience in the laboratory market. A history of consistent, above average performance at current or past employer with participation in at least one formalized sales training course. Must be willing to relocate in accordance with business requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and professional journals.
- Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must have strong computer skills such as Word processing, Spreadsheets, E-mail, Business Correspondence.
