Position # 2685
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic team player to provide administrative and secretarial support to the Executive Director of the Banbury Conference Center. The Center is renowned worldwide as a “think-tank” for topics in biomedical research and for the excellence and importance of its meetings.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting the Executive Director in all aspects of the daily operation of the Center
• Performing secretarial duties as required
• Supervising secretarial and temporary staff, and signs timesheets
• Interfacing with other Laboratory divisions: Facilities, Security, Culinary Services, Meetings and Press
• Editing Banbury Center Annual Report
• Arranging housing at Banbury for meetings participants
• Registering participants on their arrival
• Arranging travel at end of each meeting
• Managing financial aspects of meetings (expenses and grants)
• Responsible for maintaining up-to-date files on Corporate Sponsors
• Assisting in recruiting new Corporate Sponsors
• Interfacing with Corporate Sponsors liaisons
• Dealing with all aspects of Corporate Sponsors scientists attending meetings
Job Requirements:
The professional we seek will possess at least 5 years of related experience at the executive level, along with excellent secretarial, administrative and organizational skills. Strong oral and written communication, as well as the ability to multitask is essential. Advanced knowledge of Mac computers, MS Office Suite, and familiarity with the web is required. An AAS in liberal arts or secretarial science is preferred.
