Wealth Planning Strategist The Wealth Planning Strategist (Strategist) develops and maintains personalized wealth planning services to new and existing Contango clients, working in close conjunction with the Wealth Management Advisors (Advisor), and with the investment and communications leadership of Contango.The Strategist will operate regionally from Salt Lake City, supporting client-facing Advisors across the Contango Platform (currently Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington). This will be accomplished via phone and video conference. When appropriate, light travel may be undertaken as necessary to deliver services. Additionally, the Strategist may assist the Advisor in the sales process.The Strategist will utilize general knowledge in the following areas: 1. The economics and life-styles of high-net-worth individuals and families 2. Investment strategies 3. Real Estate 4. Insurance 5. CreditThe Strategist will utilize specialist level knowledge in the following areas: 1. Cash flows 2. Taxation 3. Transfer Planning (Estate and Gift) 4. Stock Option Planning 5. Retirement Planning 6. Education Planning 7. Charitable PlanningUtilizing the above knowledge, the Strategist will work with the Advisor to develop, present and implement customized analysis and solutions to better bring about the prospect/client's requirements and goals. Either as a stand alone or in combinations, the Strategist can undertake the review of prospect/client's assets, liabilities, cash flows, insurance, tax situations, estate structure, retirement situation, charitable objectives, educational objectives and their overall financial objectives. The Strategist analyzes prospect/client's financial status, develops a plan of presentation and action based on analysis of data, and discusses the options with the Advisor, and as appropriate, with the client. The Advisor maintains contact with the Strategist to revise client plans based on modified needs of client or, as directed by the Investment Committee, by changes in investments.Qualifications: College degree or requisite experience. CFP a plus. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Financial Planner. An understanding of the banking and/or registered investment advisor world is desirable. Must be people oriented with strong communication skills. Desire a self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to multi-task and react quickly to changing priorities. Experience working with commercially available financial planning software. Ability to apply financial planning knowledge and concepts to effectively use any financial planning software suite.
