Tellers PT

The Provident Bank, a multi-billion dollar NJ bank with branches in ten counties is seeking PT tellers for openings at various Middlesex & Union County branches including Clark, Dunellen, Edison and Fanwood.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responds to customers' needs by processing routine banking transactions at teller window, and provides flexibility of

 coverage for the branch.  Responsible as a first point of contact to direct the customer to other banking services

and bank personnel and cross-sell.



MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Strives for customer service excellence.  Promotes the customer as the primary focus.  60.00%

Demonstrates awareness, commitment and dedication to servicing and builds customer

franchise.

- Contributes to sales referrals and cross selling programs related to all products

- Adheres to the banks Corporate Sales Program

- Promotes bank products, refer or resolve customer inquiries concerning accounts

  or other banking services

- Researches error in deposits and withdrawals, records interest

Ensures compliance with policies and procedures and obtain necessary approvals and 20.00%

authorizations.  Prepares CTR form on appropriate transactions.

Performs and or assists supervisor in functions such as: 15.00%

- Open and/or close branch

- Assist with daily proof and stocking of ATM

- Oversee vault proof.  May buy and sell cash from vault

- Maintain security tapes

- Provide access to safe deposit boxes

- Assist in branch reporting

- Handle daily/monthly reporting such as overdraft report

- Teller differences

- Travelers checks

- Service fee checks

- Inventory and order supplies for the branch

- Assist with daily proof and provides second signature as required by tellers

- Participate in both internal and external sales activities

- Routine clerical duties for branch, including filing, answering the telephone,

  distributing mail and answering mail inquiries for account balance verification

Performs other duties as required.  5.00%





  SKILLS AND TRAINING

Good interpersonal verbal communication skills

Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities in a courteous and efficient manner



Basic knowledge of keyboard and PC skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide monetary units and to perform arithmetic operations

with the use of a calculator

Ability to understand and follow safety and security practices

Ability to work a flexible hourly schedule as requested, which includes Saturday mornings.  Willing to travel

Knowledge of CSR operating methods and teller terminal

Strong relationship building and interpersonal abilities

High school diploma or GED

6 months to 1 year







 WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is mainly performed under general office conditions in a retail-banking establishment.  Ability to work required

overtime and travel to other locations/branches.  Must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to adapt to new job

locations and reassignments as directed.
