Tellers
Houston area Credit Unions seeking experienced and energetic tellers. Heavy cash handling and balancing experience a must! Full and part time schedules available (daytime hours only- no evenings).
Duties and Responsibilities
-Assumes responsibility for the efficient and accurate performance of teller functions.
- Represents the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner.
- Receives deposits and disburses cash or check withdrawals.
- Processes cash advances, travelers' checks, cashiers' checks, money orders, bank to bank wires, and wires.
- Verifies transactions. Monitors deposit amounts, and examines documents for endorsement and negotiability.Detects and resolves discrepancies promptly.
- Balances daily transactions and verifies cash totals. Investigates and resolves out-of-balance conditions.
-Orders checks for members' accounts.
Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party.
-Takes stop payment orders.
- Receives and directs members and telephone calls. Responds to inquiries and questions if possible or directs them as necessary.
- Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed.
- Actively cross-sells Credit Union products and services.
Minimum Requirements
*Cash-handling/balancing experience acquired through banking or retail. (A must!!) Previous teller experience strongly preferred.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Desirable Training and Experience
- Cash Handling
- Good communication skills.
- Professional appearance, dress and attitude.
- Good math skills.
