Teller II/Personal Banker

This position is responsible for providing quality customer service as a front line employee. This includes receiving checks and cash for deposit or loan payment to accounts, verifing amounts, examining checks for proper endorsement, and entering transactions into the computer. Pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances for check cashing, withdrawal, and split deposit transactions. Position also requires cross-selling and promotion of bank products; must have knowledge, experience, and personality to be able to back up as a Personal Banker. This position requires excellent communication skills with customers, co-workers, management, and other bank locations by maintaining a professional, positive, and courteous demeanor. Must demonstrate knowledge of the industry in terms of laws and regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act relative to his/her job responsibilities

1. Assists customers quickly and efficiently and maintains positive customer relationship. Meet all expectations on professionalism and our image. 2. Researches and verifies all aspects of transactions for accuracy and legitimacy. Runs transactions accurately. 3. Refers and sells bank products by recognizing and recommending ways to better serve customer’s financial needs in person and over the telephone. Cultivates friendly rapport with customers to retain existing accounts and develop new deposit or loan relationships. 4. Able to be a backup for the Personal Banker; has knowledge of product benefits and features and how they will benefit customers. Prepares and completes appropriate paperwork with regards to opening accounts. Dual position of Teller and Personal Banker; requires good decision making to determine in which area to focus for best customer service. 5. Follows procedures keeping security of bank in mind. 6. Demonstrates knowledge of the Industry in terms of laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act relative to the job responsibilities.

The teller must maintain a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. The position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. The employee must have the ability to research information, and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action. He/She must have the ability to exercise considerable judgement and discretion in establishing and maintaining a good working relationship. Employee must be able to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions. The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standards exist in addition to the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form are essential to the functions of this position

High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two years experience in retail banking is preferred. Previous sales experience preferred.
