Systems Administrator needed for NY Hedge Fund Sun-Thurs 4pm-1am!
Successful candidates must be knowledgeable of MS Office 2000, XP and 2003, PC hardware & terminology, MS Windows 98/NT/2000/XP & NT/2000 Server, MS Exchange 2000 and 2003, Active Directory, Veritas Backup Exec 8.x-9.x, Symantec Ghost, and Ethernet network topology, knowledge and experience with Cisco routers, switches and VoIP. Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications a strong plus.
The successful candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in the following areas:
· Administering a LAN/WAN - TCP/IP environment using Windows/Exchange 2000 and 2003, including migrations to current OS and recovery from tape
· Design, implementation, and migration to a new production Win2K domain w/ Active Directory
· Thorough knowledge of Desktop Operating Systems - Windows NT/2000/XP, including migration
· LAN/WAN connectivity through maintenance and troubleshooting of routers, switches, hubs, network cards, and dial up networking
· Configured and deployed Layer 2 Cisco switches as well as Cisco routers
· Configured and deployed a Cisco PIX or other type hardware firewall into a production environment
· Deployed home networks including cable modem, DSL w/ a SOHO firewall, VPN software and internet email
· Working knowledge of DNS, Internet Infrastructure, and IP informational tools
· Rebuilding servers and workstations
· Understanding of SNMP and Syslog
· Deployed and managed BackupExec and NAVCorp
· Financial industry experience, including familiarity market vendor applications a plus.
· Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications a strong plus.Financial industry experience a PLUS, including familiarity with Reuters and Bloomberg, Thomson One, Nyfix, FactSet, Traders Console, and MacGregor
