Staff Accountant/AP

OBJECTIVE:

To efficiently and accurately maintain bank's central accounting records; make timely payments of Bank invoices and ensure timely processing of functions with in job description.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The following is a list of essential functions, which may be subject to change at any time and without advance notice.  Management may assign new duties, reassign existing duties, or eliminate a function.

 

· Process accounts payable invoices verifying invoices are correct, amount payable is accurate

· Issue checks and process ACH using appropriate G/L account and cost centers

· Reconcile and file treasurer's checks, CD interest checks and other official check accounts ensuring that they are in proper sequence

· Reconcile due from bank accounts

· Provide Assistant Controller with information as required

· Review vendor statements for accuracy and GL account classification

· Perform all accounting duties related to payroll processing

· Provide backup to other team members

· Prepare various account reconciliations

· Retain daily checklist of accounting duties

· Follow-up on reconciling items through resolution to insure items are cleared in a timely manner

· Continually update policy and procedure manuals

· Other duties as assigned

  REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:  Associate Degree (Accounting/Finance preferred).  Two to five years accounting experience (preference for accounts payable in a cost center environment).

 

 

Skills and Competencies:

· Strong  Computer Skills (MS Office,  specifically excel and spreadsheet)

· Efficient 10 key adding machine skills.

· Good oral communications

· Proven ability to be accurate and detail oriented in a fast paced environment

· Strong organization skills

· Ability to multi-task and remain organized

· Ability to maintain confidential customer and Bank information in a responsible and secure manner WORKING CONDITIONS

Traditional office environment with no unusual work conditions
