Software Application Developer

S1 Corporation in West Hills, CA is seeking a Software Application Developer for a full time position.

SUMMARY
Under general direction, researches and develops computer software. Responsible for analysis, design, programming, debugging and modifications of local, network or internet-related computer programs for commercial or end user applications in the financial services arena. Works on somewhat complex software design applications and programming problems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.

Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.

Formulates and designs software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.

Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming language and technologies.

Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.

Consults with customer concerning maintenance of software system.

Coordinates installation of software system.

May interface with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

Travel estimated to average 10%. Travel is within in the U.S.

QUALIFICATIONS

For consideration, candidates MUST possess the following:
• 3-5 years experience in VB.NET/VB programming.
• General knowledge of the .NET Framework.
• General knowledge of Object Oriented Programming
• SQL scripting experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Additionally, the following are desired but not required:
• Knowledge/experience with CRM and/or data analysis
• Web development experience, preferably with ASP.NET

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Requires a BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience in programming computer applications.

Typically requires a minimum of 5 – 8 years of related experience with BS degree, 3 – 6 years experience with MS degree, or 0 – 3 years experience with Ph.D.

Requires working knowledge of software documentation, utilities and job control languages.

Must have a thorough understanding and wide use of technical standards, principles, theories, and concepts in the field.

Must have the ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, and practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

Must have the ability to contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects.
Interacts frequently with inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.

Must have the ability to interact frequently with inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters.

Must have the ability to represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
