Senior Project Manager (Trading Systems)

Our Client is seeking a top caliber Senior Business Analyst.  Good, solid relevant experience from a top firm.  Examples would include Charles Schwab Investment Management, Mellon Capital Investment Management and Barclays Global Investors.  · Able to lead a complex business analysis work stream and manage to aggressive delivery timelines with stakeholder signoff and solution design.  · Experience with a brokerage trading integration project – especially mutual funds trading· Potential candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of investment consulting solutions and managed money products for the brokerage business. · In-depth experience with trading capabilities as part of an integrated investment consulting platform is required. · Previous experience with wealth management applications and the investment management process are highly desired. Project Management and Analytical Skills· The ideal candidate will provide business and technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements.  · Excellence will be measured by maximizing effectiveness through an understanding of the data, systems, business users, client needs and operational processes. · Experience working in a business analyst role on a large and highly complex vendor-based solution for a brokerage business is a requirement. · As part of the interview process, please be prepared to provide an example of a business analysis artifact related to a complex project that would be applicable here.· Experience with the implementation of an integrated vendor-based trading system is required and familiarity with the Beta trades processing environment would be ideal.   Roles and Responsibilities· Candidate will be a team member on the Brokerage Implementation Team for the Investment Consulting Desktop Initiative and will support activities identified by the Brokerage leadership and a defined project plan.  · This role will drive the requirements process for defining a brokerage trading solution and implementation design for investment consulting trading capabilities.· Activities include the planning, review and analysis of complex business issues/problems associated with the implementation of wealth management/investment management, brokerage and trading applications for the brokerage business.· Manage the entire work stream for the Investment Consulting Trading project for Brokerage. · Will require travel to Minneapolis on a regular basis (approximately one week out of every four-six weeks).· Expertise with business requirements & process flows surrounding changes to existing and new applications as they relate to application functionality and business process requirements.· Have responsibility for overseeing and coordinating application testing, including the creation of a master test plan, test case and use case creation, test execution and defect reporting.· Facilitate weekly applications issues and remediation meetings.· Responsible for managing the successful analysis and implementation of the trading application as a suitable Wealth Management solution for the brokerage line of business within the organization. Minimum Qualifications:· 10+ years as a project manager in the Financial Services industry, with a proven track record of managing successful Trading projects.· 7+ years of business analysis experience in the Financial Services industry.· Demonstrated ability to manage a team, prioritize and execute against conflicting demands and situations.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills – provide example of business analysis/business requirements document.· Advanced user of the following applications:  MS Project, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.· Self-starter that is driven for finding solutions to issues and demonstrate the ability to think creatively and independently in providing suggestions to achieve positive results.· Bachelor’s degree.
