Extremely Urgent We need the following resource ASAP for one of our major clients in New York City. This position is very urgent. Job Title: Sr. Core Java DeveloperSkills:The Java Enterprise Developer will be a key member of the Prime Brokerage development team with initial focus in real-time services. Individual will be involved in the full project life cycle while working with project managers and business analysts to take requirements through design, implementation and delivery. Candidate needs to be a self-starter with a ‘can-do’ attitude and the right mix of technical skills and business knowledge. The ideal candidate will have excellent software development and design skills with 5 or more years experience developing large-scale Java applications. Candidate must have experience with enterprise level applications and the complexities of scaling these to high volume processing. Experience with J2EE technologies is a must. Candidate must also be capable of leading from a technical perspective and driving to solutions. At the same time, candidates are expected to be hands on and be part of the implementation process. Job Responsibilities include:- Extensive hands-on Java development using POJO and J2EE…including JMS, Servlets/JSP, JDBC, etc.- Application development dealing with Large Scale Distributed Systems.- Translating Business Requirements into system designs. - Hands on experience on coding, troubleshooting and application performance tuning.- Ability to balance strategic and tactical solutions. Programming Skills: Minimum of 5-7 years of in-depth Java development experience Core Java and J2EE. Minimum of 10 years experience designing and implementing large scale distributed systems with Java or C++. Minimum 3 years experience building message based systems using JMS. Minimum of 5 years of in-depth experience designing systems including the ability to document the designs utilizing UML or an equivalent methodology. Experience as a developer for a mission critical enterprise system. Practical experience with high volume data processing applications. Must posses experience with version control systems such as ClearCase, and build tools such as Ant and Maven.Experience with Weblogic, Spring, Struts a plus. Platforms: Must be proficient in Windows and UNIX/Linux platforms.GUI Systems: Experience with browser based GUI development a plus.Database Systems: Must have experience with an enterprise DB system…Sybase or Oracle or DB2. Experience with Oracle a plus. Business Knowledge: Experience in the Securities Industry is a plus, an understanding of the Prime Brokerage Business and Margin practices, are a strong plus. Project Experience : This position requires a minimum of 10 years developing large-scale applications, which includes at least 5-7 years designing and developing in Java technologies. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Includes the ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally to peers and management.
