Job Responsibilities/Functions:
Manages and prioritizes all activities which occur on the Network Design & Engineering team which is responsible for designing and engineering the network and internet infrastructure in the U.S. and its connections to the BMO GOC and various external entities. This person will be responsible for assigning resources to projects, monitoring their progress, and providing status and escalations to management. .
This person will also be the first point of contact for peer areas within the organization when requesting input and assistance.
This position will interact with various levels within the organization in order to meet objectives and achieve accomplishments. Work hours may vary from the normal 8:30AM to 5:00PM.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Incumbent must have 5-7 years of demonstrated accomplishments in the areas of
consulting and network design.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage a group of technically diverse individuals who are responsible for designing and engineering critical and complex network solutions
- Any or most of the following certifications – CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP, CISSP, MCSE.
- This individual must possess a strong technology operations background, have excellent analytical skills and be very detail oriented.
- Successful candidates should be versed in industry practices and possess a broad understanding of financial systems applications and services.
- Superior communication and organization skills are critical to success
- Must possess the ability to work independently, be able to effectively direct or influence others and ensure significant design and engineering issues and challenges are resolved in a timely manner.
- Must have extensive knowledge of network design documentation tools such as VISIO or
POWERPOINT.
- Must have extensive hands on experience with CISCO routers and switches, WAN
technologies, and network analyzing tools (SNIFFER, FLUKE, etc.).
- Must be highly organized and able to meet deadlines.
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work on multiple complex designs concurrently.
- Must be flexible in supporting project related implementation tasks that occur on evenings and weekends.
