General Description:

 

The Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and tracking execution of operational and lending policies and procedures that ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.  Specific responsibilities include the notification and systematic integration of compliance rules and documents to manage compliance lending risk.

 

 

Responsibilities:Act as the primary company contact for all compliance-related information and activities.Inform production and support teams of all regulatory and business developments related to regulatory compliance and determine the impact of those developments to the company.Ensure that existing and proposed business practices, policies, procedures, loan pricing, origination software systems, documents and disclosures comply with federal and state regulations.Stay abreast of all federal and state regulatory changes related to consumer lending and privacy and ensure those changes are communicated to and addressed by company managementAddress internal and external audit findings and prepare responses to state and investor auditors.Develop and execute compliance monitoring programs to test the compliance controls and procedures.Develop and execute mandatory compliance training modulesEnsure that new product development, system initiatives and other projects adequately address compliance related issuesWork closely with retained legal counsel and other compliance related resources to interpret new and existing laws and regulations and communicate those interpretations to the company.On an as-needed basis, perform research on regulatory issues that is thorough, accurate and timely. Communicate the results of that research to management for action plans to be developed if applicable.Meet HMDA reporting requirements and review and resolve all HMDA related issues.Attend compliance related industry conferences.

 

 

Requirements:Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years of regulatory compliance experience Strong background in federal and state lending lawsStrong knowledge of FHA and GSE guidelines and requirementsExcellent ability to analyze and interpret legal and statutory materials as well as state and federal regulationsStrong self-confidence, good judgment and the ability to make sound decisionsMust interface effectively with other departmentsAbility to handle a fast paced environment with minimum supervision and successfully meet established project deadline requirements.Must possess excellent project management skillsStrong problem solverOutstanding initiative, communication skills (verbal and written), attention to detail and organizational skills requiredLegal degree a plus



 

Conditions of Work:Must have ability to travel and work extended hours as needed
