Security Specialist

Our firm is rapidly growing, and we are presently looking for a talented and motivated Security Specialist to join our dynamic Information Technology team!

 

Job Summary:

 

This role is to ensure the secure operation of the in-house computer systems, servers, and network connections. The Security Specialist will conduct both network and user activity audits. Determining security needs, developing and implementing solutions, and creating and enforcing security policies are essential tasks for this position. This individual will make recommendations of operating system patches, application security patches, and any other security updates to ensure a secure operation.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage physical security as it relates to IT security.Identify and resolve potential security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion.Work with other IT and business users to devise secure solutions that make business sense.Keep IT staff and management apprised of security issues and their implications.Establish and recommend policies on system usage and services.Assess daily penetration and other security logs, respond to problems and adjust systems / policies.Monitor and review logs of computer systems and network activities for possible unauthorized intrusion.Conduct vulnerability and penetration testing of all computer systems, networks, applications, database, and telecommunications in order to ensure the continued security of said systems, and work with other business unit leaders to ensure resolution of all known vulnerabilities.add/modify/delete user accounts and permissions.Maintain and update process documentation.Continually work to improve department processes and procedures.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 4-5 years of experience in IT with a broad range of exposure to all aspects of business planning, systems analysis, and application development.

· 2-3 years of experience with information security.

· Windows 2000/2003 security administration skills.

· Ability to translate information security objectives and business strategic needs. Ability to understand and correlate information protection controls to business needs. Experience in developing and guiding effective, results-oriented team based projects.
