Retail Banking Manager (Inland District California) POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:This position is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the retail branches within a specified geographic region. Emphasis is placed on insuring that the branches achieve budgeted results while effectively supporting the organization’s “brand” through its sales and service efforts and maintaining effective control over its operational aspects and exposures. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Ensure the retail sales process and methodology is consistently and effectively applied throughout the region.• Ensure that products and services are marketed in accordance with budgeted objectives to obtain maximum profitability and sales volume.• Ensure operational soundness is maintained throughout the branches. Review branch administration assessment results and ensure preventative and corrective actions are implemented• Continually evaluate the timely adjustment of business strategies and plans to respond to changing markets and competitive conditions.• Provide consistent and continuous coaching, recognition, motivation, marketing advice and guidance to the designated Branch Managers• Consistently conduct formal training, run clinics and sales meetings, observe, and evaluate management and leadership skill development. • Provide consistent and continuous coaching, recognition, motivation, marketing advice and guidance to staff members, encourage supervisory staff to do the same with direct reports.• Insure the adherence to general bank regulatory procedures including BSA/AML as it pertains to “know your customer.”• Effectively manage any and all changes in the region's retail business strategy including acquisitions, de-novo's and relocations. Ensure effective coordination with all internal and external business partners• Support new marketing campaigns and product launches, develop micro-marketing efforts to achieve sales results and ensure all resources are utilized to obtain region goals.• Research, identify and evaluate market conditions to identify potential new business opportunities.• Develop and maintain effective relationships with other internal business units.• Conduct weekly Monday sales meetings with direct reports to review sales status, actively participate in Tuesday Sales conference calls sharing success stories with other Retail Banking Managers and Sales Management team members.• Effectively establish and communicate the bank’s goals to Branch Managers, gain commitment and establish plan of action for goal attainment.• Ensure the branches’ facilities are maintained according to established protocol.• Ensure the region's active involvement within the communities and report all CRA related activities to appropriate unit.• Ensure the region's retail operations are effective, sound and efficient, review branch administration assessment results and ensure preventative and corrective actions are implemented • Ensure branches are adequately staffed with employees committed to the bank and branch goals.• Continuously review the region's results to budget and expected sales goals. Discuss results and comments with staff members.• Extensive travel to assigned branch locations in the eastern Los Angeles and Inland Empire of southern California.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATRIBUTES REQUIRED:• Ability to effectively coach employees.• Effective organizational and analytical skills• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. • Effective sales ability and persuasiveness • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally.• Strong problem-solving, negotiation & follow-up skills.• Knowledge of banking products, services, policies, procedures and regulations.• Ability to express ideas clearly and articulately in both oral and written communicationACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 7 years related experience in a retail banking/financial service organization.
