Minimum 2 years experience in an administrative or clerical position in mortgage servicing that included customer contact, preferably in a default environment. Familiarity with Federal/State/investor guidelines on mortgage collection. Alltel, Passport, Proficient Microsoft Word & Excel (intermediate level) and data entry (55 net wpm desired) skills. Math aptitude. Attention to detail. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Accurate spelling and grammar. Maintain composure under pressure and in confrontational situations with customer. Organized work habits. Handle simultaneous responsibilities effectively. Establish priorities. Ability to learn collection guidelines and mortgage reporting software. Ability to work overtime when needed. Responsibilities Report loans in default to mortgage insurance companies or investors according to default reporting deadlines specified by industry and investor regulations. Disperse updates to VA and mortgage insurance companies both manually and via magnetic tape, monthly. Complete update inquiries received by mail and return. Process includes review of accounts to determine reason for delinquency and ultimate disposition. Prepare and file VA Notices of Default and Notices of Intent, monthly. Process includes review of account and preparation of account summary for submission to Veterans Administration.
