Real Estate Loan Processor

Chevron Federal Credit Union is looking for a Real Estate Loan Processor for its Real Estate Loan Production department at its headquarters in the City Center area of Oakland, California, near the 12th Street BART station.  Under general supervision, the person in this position will assist in the processing of real estate loan department activity and assist with coordination of workflow within the loan processing unit.

 

Responsibilities:

· Review file documentation for completeness and consistency with original information as indicated on initial loan application. Assemble, collate and maintain documentation in proper processing order.

· Pre-screen loan applications for qualifications consistent with appropriate CFCU policy, procedures and guidelines.

· Prepare all applicable file documentation, including mailing regulatory disclosures; ordering preliminary title reports, appraisals and flood certifications. Review credit reports and verify other documentation as required

· Communicate loan processing information to Loan Officers, Processors and Closers.

· Validate loans using Desktop Underwriting (DU), requests documentation as DU dictates; verifies and validates input data.

· Prepare loans for final underwriting approval and satisfy underwriting conditions. Secure supervisor or manager’s approval, if required. Complete loan data processing sheet per file; maintain a weekly status report on all files.

· Orders loan documents for closing to coincide with projected closing dates.

· Answers member’s questions and obtains information and signatures on authorization forms. Performs follow-up on pending loan applications such as calling member or other persons to obtain needed information, resolve discrepancies, update member on application process and timing, etc.

· Other duties may be assigned, as needed.

 

Requirements:High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.); two or more years experience in loan processing and mortgage environment is desired; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current working knowledge of real estate lending criteria (FNMA, FHLMC) preferred.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
