Investment Bank Project Manager Finance and Technology Position

 

Our investment banking client has a new Finance position in the technology area,

 

IB Technology Finance is a newly formed technology organization supporting some 2000 IB Finance professionals. The current technology platform it provides is fragmented, limited in terms of functionality, limited in terms of integration with IB lines of business and in many instances based on Excel or Access.

 

A multi-year effort has been launched to define and implement a global target state infrastructure that will address these limitations, thereby providing improved automation and yielding considerable efficiencies across all IB Finance processes.

 

Role Description

A senior project manager/business analyst with excellent client focus, managerial and business analysis skills is required to join the core team that will play a pivotal role in the implementation of this architecture.

 

The role offers an excellent opportunity to participate in a transformational initiative which will have a measurable bottom line impact on the firm. Furthermore the role will allow the candidate to build a detailed understanding of the workings of the Investment Bank’s Finance organization, to build strong relationships with senior IB Finance individuals, to shape the target state finance business processes and to design a solution which implements them efficiently and reliably.

 

Specific responsibilities will include:Project management responsibility for one or more of the key project initiatives within the strategic IB Technology Finance program partnering closely with an senior (ED or MD-level) IB Finance lead. Responsibility for the development of detailed business requirements, technical design, implementation and test plans, UAT testing and production rollout of a phased series of projects which will migrate the IB Finance organization from current to target state business process and systems architecture across multiple project workstreams concurrently. Identification and implementation of quick wins. Development and execution of a strategy for the implementation of the longer term strategic vision.

· Excellent business analysis / problem solving skills and detail orientation.

· Minimum 10 years of full lifecycle IT project management experience.

· Strong influence / teamwork skills.

Minimum 5 years experience of either Enterprise Finance systems or Investment Banking LOBs.
