Product Controller, FI - Government & Agencies Description UBS is a leading global financial services firm. By combining your talent and our strengths, we can achieve great results. The role will be in the Rates Government North America Business Unit Control team and is based in Stamford. The team consists of 10 staff which includes Derivatives and Structured Options. Depending on the experience of the person the successful candidate will be expected to perform some of following responsibilities:Liaison with trading desk, Valuations, front-office support, Operations and Global Reporting, to discuss and resolve ad hoc issues concerning bookings, valuations, new business, strategy and other areas. Day-to-day management of the P&L production process.Management of the month end close.Preparation of detailed commentaries on significant MTM/NB P&L.Opportunity to learn how the Fed Auction functions and the various trading strategies the desk employs are used to generate revenues (Curve Strategies, Product Spread Strategies)Involvement in parameter/price testing in conjunction with Rates BUC Valuation team.Review of New Business Approvals to assess the impact of new, complex products on BUC/FCD.EITF Day 1 P&L reviews for new products.Review and development of BUC systems/procedures.Review of Balance Sheet Composition relative to the limits set by the firm.Analysis of spread P/L (Coupon vs. Financing)Ad hoc projects.Development of a detailed knowledge of the Rates F2B flow for the Swaps & Options businesses.Continued awareness of external accounting standards and their potential impact on the business and traders.
