Personal Banker - Retail Support Staff

GENERAL SUMMARY: Primarily responsible for providing temporary coverage for open positions in the branches, which include Personal Banker(PB) and Teller positions. Providing high quality service in response to a broad variety of client issues such as account maintenance, research, and problem resolution. Also accurately processes a variety of transactions involving the paying and receiving of funds and is responsible for balancing a cash drawer.   MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Represents the Bank Interacts with the client in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Exhibits quality behavior that promote client trust.   2. Branch Coverage Will be temporarily assigned to an open position (PB or Teller) in a branch location on an as needed basis. The assignments may be for a few days or could run for several weeks. Flexibility is needed as assignments may involve short notice and could involve any branch in the retail system.   3. Personal banker Duties Performs all PB duties, which includes, but not limited to: · Assisting clients promptly and efficiently with questions and inquires. · Acts as safe deposit attendant. · Opens all types of accounts. · Profiles clients for additional product sales opportunities. · Performs daily duties concerning wire transfer processing, overdraft management and other related tasks.   4. Teller Duties Performs all Teller duties, which includes, but not limited to: · Processes and settles transactions in an accurate and efficient manner. · Maintains teller differences and cash levels within established guidelines. · Assists clients by answering general questions. · Provides support to the Teller Supervisor.   5. Other Duties May occasionally assist with general administrative duties for Retail Administration that could include preparing correspondence, maintaining files, distributing memoranda, research, etc.  

Job Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 1. Position requires a minimum of 6 to 12 months work experience as a teller or experience in a retail sales/service environment and 6 to 12 months of work experience as a CSR I or 1 to 2 years comparable experience in a retail banking environment. Demonstrates an aptitude for successful client service and sales as well as business math skills. Internal training is provided to acquire introductory knowledge of bank operations, procedures, products and sales skills.   2. Work requires the ability to operate standard office equipment (telephone, typewriter, 10-key calculator, etc.) with a minimum typing speed of 30 wpm; and the ability to operate a personal computer to key in data, retrieve data, and print account information. In addition, able to use other branch equipment such as coin and currency counter, check writer, drive-in facilities, etc.   3. Analytical ability is required in researching and analyzing data pertaining to problems of a routine nature where selection of alternatives is limited or not well defined, but where standard policies are established.   4. Interpersonal skills are necessary to relate to and empathize with other people and to maintain a professional, friendly, and courteous demeanor throughout the day. Work requires regular contact with diverse groups internally and externally.
