PROBLEM MANAGER / Root Cause Analyst

Location: Hauppauge, NY 11749 Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project, Employee Reference Code: 1001111337 Technisource currently has (2) openings for a Problem Manager / Root Cause Analyst.These are long term opportunities located at our client site in Hauppauge, NY. The role is for a Problem Manager, in which individuals are required to perform Root Cause Analysis on Bank related issues.   The Bank Problem Management Team (BPM) partners directly with IT, Third Party Vendors, Lines of Business and Subject Management Experts; to investigate and determine Root Cause on incidents directly impacting/impeding services which affect Business’ operations.   As Problem Manager for the Bank organization, individuals will be responsible for resolving the root cause of incidents with the ultimate goal of eliminating their recurrence. The Problem Manager will be faced with incidents but may have very little detail regarding the root cause and will be required to pull together the key players in the incident to determine why it happened and what actions are needed to prevent it; ensuring that all action points are completed. Additionally, the Problem Manager will seek out existing issues and perform trend analysis in an effort to track down and proactively engage in the Problem Management Process.Responsibilities: Participate or lead cross functional teams in support of root cause activities Identify root cause and ownership of problems assigned to IT for analysis Work with appropriate teams to document impacts of high-severity incidents Work with/influence business and IT units to implement initiatives/activities into business practices to drive down outages Maintain problem records in IT Problem Management System Provide written updates on problems to Senior Leadership  Qualifications: Required: Strong problem-solving and conceptual thinking Clear ability to drive towards results Perform Trend analysis on support calls and investigate incidents most frequently logged Strong team player, highly motivated and self-directed;  Able to handle multiple tasks Strong understanding of the incident and problem management process. Good facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills Demonstrated strong ability to collaborate across multiple areas Demonstrated ability to work independently and successfully in a demanding environment Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written Education – Associate Degree or Specialized Technical Training Preferred: Financial services knowledge  Basic project management skills Experience in operational analysis Knowledge of ITIL framework/processes Experience with root cause analysis techniques and application 5+ years of IT experience with understanding of host systems, mainframes Experience managing and leading cross-functional teams Education – Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Information Technology Experience managing outsourced providers in the delivery of technical services Familiarity with COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and related Technology) standards Personal Attributes: Excellent oral and written communication skills Able to learn new subject matter quickly Organized and accurate Ability to interact with management and technical staff at a variety of levels Demonstrated ability to work under pressure Results oriented Self-starter with strong analytical skillsPlease apply to: MelisaEsposito@Technisource.com   Contact: PLEASE E-MAIL RESUMES TO: Apply by Email
