Marketing Project Manager

Primary Characteristics: The primary function of the position is to independently manage, from beginning to end, the process for developing marketing communications materials to support the execution of complex direct mail, print and email campaigns. The position will manage the operational aspects of a project, and will be responsible for coordinating all required resources to deliver projects on time, on budget, and at the required quality level. The successful candidate will be able to work proactively and make decisions independently, as well as interact with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Essential Functions: * Proactively manage marketing projects and programs from initial request to creative development, stakeholder approval, Compliance approval and project deployment via direct mail and email delivery channels. * Manage highly complex direct mail program processes including: data processing instructions, data audits and reporting, letter shop production schedules and letter shop vendor management. * Lead successful project planning meetings to ensure projects are delivered on time, on strategy, on budget and error-free. * Maintain relationships with internal partners to ensure smooth flow of project-critical information. Conduct regular updates with creative team and marketing partners as needed. * Develop and manage project schedule, proactively managing and communicating required deliverables to the core project team. Seek alternative solutions when planned schedule is jeopardized to successfully achieve mutually agreeable deliverables. * Manage and track all projects for Legal review, ensuring consistency in communicating review requirements to Legal Department. * Develop regular reports from project tracking database to aid in managing tasks associated with key milestones on all projects. Assist in managing departmental monthly reporting. * Review and approve vendor invoices ensuring alignment with estimate/budget. * Provide backup print production support to Print Production Manager. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): * Proven project management and problem solving skills. * Exceptional communication skills * Ability to develop, manage and maintain project plans and schedules. * Thorough understanding of marketing delivery process, from creative development through project delivery and including thorough understanding of direct mail production form data processing through mail delivery. * In-depth knowledge of traditional offset printing, digital printing and laser personalization processes. * Strong vendor management skills. * Knowledge of USPS postal regulations. * Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple, complex projects within tight timelines and competing priority. * Proactive self-starter with exceptional problem-solving abilities. * Ability to interact professionally with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the company. Training and Experience: * 5-7 years experience managing complex direct mail programs with multiple segments and variables in the Financial Services Industry including:     Managing detailed data processing instructions and reports for personalized direct mail.     Managing printing/graphics resources for the production of printed mailing materials.     Developing and managing marketing matrices to support creative and production processes. * Successful track record managing projects in a marketing environment. * 3-5 years experience managing creative resources in a corporate or agency setting. * 3-5 years experience managing creative resources in a corporate or agency setting * Extensive experience in developing, managing, and maintaining end-to-end creative and production schedules. * Strong background in Microsoft Office, Outlook, is required. Strong MS Excel skills required. * Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
