FICC MarketInfra Support is responsible for and manages the production environment for the following systems within UBS Investment Bank: Multiple external global electronic exchanges including CME, ICE, EUREX, LIFFE, MTS, TradeWeb, ICAP Brokertec, eSpeed, Bloomberg, and MarketAxess for the Cash, Repo, IRS and Equities businesses within UBS FML - FICC Market Links - Suite of Gateways providing Market Connectivity to markets globally for FICC. FMM Obsidian - A FuSA Algorithmic Trading platform, used by the London Rates Desk. Julius - Global real-time matrix pricing, trading, risk, P&L and position management system - Used by Cash traders JetPac Julius on Citrix - the deployment of the JetPac Julius trading application via Citrix. JetWeb - Global trading and position management system - Used by Sales and Operations personnel across the FICC Business Repo Trade Centre - a Repo Trade capture system QTS - A Fixed Income Proprietary Algorithmic Trading PlatformThe FICC Market Infrastructure team (Part of the FICC Securities Production Support Team) provides second and third tier support to the business Technology Management teams (who interact directly with business users) as well as being responsible for maintaining and configuring the highly available and resilient infrastructure that these applications depend on for the connectivity the to the various exchanges around the world. Regularly the team liaises with other IT groups within the bank (Unix, Wintel, thintel and networking admin teams) as well as internal development teams to ensure all systems are maintained to the highest standard. The team is also responsible for the wrapping and deployment of the vendor provided ECN trading applications, deployed by UBS's in house application deployment system. Coupled with this, is regular liaison with the external vendors to understand release schedules, how relevant each release is to the users of each application. The final responsibility of the team is to ensure accuracy and relevancy of information held with in strategic tools to assist with the management and co-ordination of problem resolution within FICC IT Support. This includes knowledge retention and sharing systems, incident booking, reporting, and change management.Your Job...1: Network specialist A thorough understanding of TCP-IP, multicast, network security, routing, firewall and internet proxy technologies and best practices. The applicant should have the ability to design, implement and troubleshoot fault tolerant and highly available network solutions for all electronic exchange connectivity. 2: Project Management The candidate should have some project management experience and demonstrate ability to co-ordinate projects as determined by the global head of the Market Infrastructure team. This will include vendor management and liaising with other core groups within the bank to ensure successful completion.3: Market Infrastructure management Ability to deploy and manage a global infrastructure to support business requirements- The design and implementation should consider and resolve any issues with HA / BCP scenarios and provide end users with a seamless and always available connection into the various exchanges we support. 4: Second Tier support to trading floor support teams Provide second tier support to trading floor-based business technology management teams. Providing expert technical assistance for issues which cannot be resolved quickly by our front line teams. Escalate irresolvable issues to development teams and manage the problem resolution process.5: Release management Business requirements dictate a high rate of change within the FICC IT teams, in order to maximise trading opportunity. However our team must balance frequency and degree of change against ensuring stability of systems is not compromised. Undertake responsibility for reviewing and implementing code and configuration changes with a view to ensuring no unnecessary risk is taken. Verify QA testing and complete comprehensive post release production testing. Key Tasks: Provide technical expertise to assist in monitoring and maintaining our internal infrastructure (UNIX, Citrix and Sybase) to ensure end user applications operate effectively in a real-time environment. Build relationships and liaise with development teams (across all FICC Streams) and raise any issues identified by the BTM team which are related to bugs or are not resolvable without code change. Vendor Relationship Management for external Exchanges, currently 8 and their software providers, facilitating upgrades and evaluations. Enhance the BCP requirements for Jetpac and ECN infrastructure and ensure implementation as part of Production Model. Assist in formulating and documenting an efficient Standard support model to include - Process Monitoring and documentation. Queue Monitoring Hardware Monitoring User Administration Development/Vendor management (relationship and procedures) Some travel to other regional centres may be required at times.
