Job Title:          MDS Contract Management 

Job Description:

 

The Market Data Services (MDS) department is seeking an individual to provide support of contract management for external content and services providers.   Scope of activities includes supporting the renewals of existing agreements, review of requests for new products, negotiation with vendors and key business stakeholders on commercial terms, support of legal terms and conditions review, etc.

 

Overview of Tasks

Strategic Sourcing: Support strategic sourcing activities, understanding commercial and MDS product goals for the individual Businesses; Utilize RFP competitive bidding process to ensure proper due diligence and optimal pricing;

Renewals and new Agreements: Foster relationships with business central management and business managers to develop and deliver cost optimization for MDS, strategic sourcing goals and objectives; Leverage global spend to consolidate multiple agreements with suppliers to optimize MDS spend and contract administration; Provide proper communication to MDS Finance and Administration teams with required information for proper inventory and pricing updates.  Provide on-going support of questions from these MDS teams to ensure accuracy; Engage MDS and Desktop management to ensure technical distribution and desktop delivery dependencies for new product acquisition;

Vendor Management: Provide primary commercial interface with assigned vendors, ensuring rules of engagement with the Businesses are followed, negotiating product pricing, etc.; Contract Terms & Conditions Support: Partnership with Legal - negotiate MDS vendor contracts with a clear view of standard requirements and business sponsor commercial needs; Interface with MDS Engineering & Support, and Business IT for inclusion of relevant SLA requirements;

 

Skills Required:

  A working knowledge of MDM (MDS inventory database) to abstract business profiles, product mix and spend strongly preferred; Thorough familiarization of Market Data products and services (e.g. Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, Factiva, Lexis-Nexis); Customer service orientation. Maintain a high user satisfaction rating; Ability to multi-task, focus on deliverables, meet deadlines, and work closely with others; Must have excellent communications skills and business relationships; Deal with multiple interrupts, can express commercial ideas within business context and can deal with stress and demands from the client base; Experience in putting budgets together, cost saving ideas and presentations for senior management articulating MDS data and product strategies; Experience with multi-functional team projects; Excellent negotiation skills; Strong technical skills in Excel (pivot tables, charting); Very good understanding of the strategic sourcing process.
