MVS/COBOL Programmer with CICS & DB2

Location: Jersey City, NJThe candidate should have the following experience: - MVS/COBOL programming experience in an IBM mainframe, OS/MVS environment, 5+ years. - CICS online programming, 5+ years. - Strong DB2. - Strong oral and written communications skills. - Working knowledge of TSO/ISPF and OS/JCL, FILEAID. - 5-7 years of experience in the analysis and design of both new and modified system applications - Strong analytical, design, trouble shooting and performance tuning skills. - Knowledge of Securitized Instruments a plus. - MQSeries. - Project Lead capabilities a plus - Java, webshere interface with mainframe a plus. - An A.S. or B.S., in Management Information Systems or Computer Science is preferable, not mandatory. - Equivalent technical experience or specialized training is acceptable  This individual will function as a Senior Programmer Analyst supporting the Security Master File (SMF) systems application. The individual will be responsible for developing new functionality and providing production support for this system. The position requires translation of user requirements and system objectives into logical, efficient, and practical system designs; preparation of detailed program specifications from which new systems will be developed and existing systems will be modified. The position includes the development of code and testing new or revised systems to ensure adequacy in meeting business requirements, security of data, and efficient use of system resources. Specifically, this position involves production support of the existing mainframe SMF System to ensure accurate and timely completion of the batch cycle and on-line availability; the development of detailed specifications for the creation of new or modified programs, including the recommendations of logical designs and record/report layouts; design of program logic to perform required functions efficiently and to produce programs that are reliable and easily maintained; development of unit and system test plans that will thoroughly exercise program logic to ensure program/application performance with regard to business requirements and system integration; the preparation all supporting documentation as required (Functional Specifications, Detail Design documents, Job Run Books, Production Move Forms, Design diagrams; Communication with other application groups and CLILENT business areas to provide strong client services in carrying out all job related activities.
