Loan Service Counselor

Our Loan Service Counselor will be responsible for collecting on auto loans 5 to 50 days past due. In addition, there will be daily interaction with the supervisory and management team to collect on delinquent accounts, prevent chargeoffs and maintain good customer relations with borrowers.  Responsibilities: Review delinquent accounts and determine the actions required Obtain promise-to-pay from borrowers Comply with collection practices to include Right to Privacy Act Communicate with Collections Manager regularly regarding collection/delinquency tends, accounts in queue and problem accounts Maintain up-to-date documentation online for all accounts Perform skip tracing to locate customers and collateral Maintain acceptable levels of call volumes and Promise-to-Pays (PTPs) Field chase accounts as needed Work overtime as required by management Knowledge of collections system, tools and practices Qualifications: - Typically requires a minimum of one year or more collections experience and/or customer service experience preferred. - Strong problem solving skills - Good communication and negotiation skills - Computer literate - High School or equivalent certificate required. - Schedule: Monday – Friday; 3 DAYS: 8 am - 5 pm ; 2 DAYS: 12 pm - 9 pm; **TWO SATURDAYS PER MONTH** Wachovia is proud to be recognized by a number of publications and organizations for its ongoing commitment to a best in class and diverse workforce.• Working Mother magazine has named Wachovia one of the 100 Best Companies for working mothers• DiversityInc has named Wachovia one of the Top 50 Companies for Diversity for the sixth consecutive year.• LATINA Style magazine has recognized Wachovia as one of the top 50 companies for professional Hispanic women in the United States• Essence has named Wachovia to its list of the 25 Great Places for Black Women to Work.• The Black Collegian's Top 100 Employers Survey included Wachovia among its major employers in industry, government, and business examined for hiring trends. • For the sixth year in a row, Training magazine has named Wachovia one of the best companies in North America for employee training and development.
