The rewards and accomplishments are limited only by your own ambitions General Description: This elite position is primarily responsible for selling refinance, purchase, and home equity loans to clients located across the nation.  The Company provides all leads/applications to the mortgage consultant who is responsible for evaluating the loan risk, using our propriety loan approval engines, pricing the loan and advising the client of their appropriate loan options to ensure their complete satisfaction. Responsibilities: Mortgage Consultants respond to internet applications for loans Conducts phone interview with prospective client; determines income and assets Reviews debts and credit history Evaluates credit worthiness of borrower using credit report, income, collateral Runs automation to determine acceptability of loan against multiple investor guidelines; reviews all findings with the consumer to determine best fit Discloses parameters of various programs including pricing, interest rates, and fees associated with each loan program Discloses proper forms and documentation Obtains commitment from borrower to proceed with Mortgage Now, Inc. Submits loan package to processing for underwriting approval; informs borrower of approval or denial. RequirementsQualifications: The ability to talk to consumers while gathering and analyzing information in a timely manner Strong negotiation and sales skills to sell multiple products (after appropriate training) Product knowledge to best advise borrowers of multiple loan products and programs Basic knowledge of financial markets and industry conditions/competition, strong telephone and customer service skills to persuade potential clients to choose Mortgage Now, Inc. Ability to deal with challenging situations and challenging customers Organizational and time management skills Willingness to follow direction of management; written and verbal communication skills Basic computer competency; ability to maintain the confidentiality and trade secrets of Mortgage Now, Inc. policies, procedures, and best practices. Education and Experience: Typical requirements are graduation from an accredited college or university and/or two (2) or more years experience in a sales and/or financial/mortgage banking position.
