Grant Street Group is a small, growing software company in downtown Pittsburgh. We use a LAMP architecture to build and operate customized Web applications used by large financial institutions and government entities to support a variety of financial transactions. We need a skilled system administrator to add to our friendly and very talented Information Systems team.
The Information Systems team is responsible for the administration of all servers, networks, and databases in multiple data centers and oversees information security across the technology spectrum. This position will integrate into the Information Systems team and be involved in the day-to-day administration, diagnostics and troubleshooting of IS resources and new IS projects.
Required experience:
· Expert in Linux systems administration
o UNIX administration experience may be substituted, but a very strong knowledge of Linux is required
o Administration of medium-large data center environments
o High-Availability and Disaster Recovery architectures
o Performance Analysis and Tuning
o DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, LDAP, Apache, SSL, mod_perl, SMTP, IMAP
o Perl and shell scripting
o RHCE certification or equivalent experience
· Proficiency in TCP/IP network administration
o Load balancing hardware
o Cisco routers and switches
o Network security and firewalls
o CCNA certification or equivalent expertise
· Proficiency in MySQL database administration
o Other RDBMS administration experience may be substituted, but knowledge of and experience with MySQL is required
o MySQL 5.0 DBA certification or equivalent expertise
· Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving skills
· Excellent organizational, decision making and communications skills
· Excellent grades and a track record of success
Experience with any of the following is helpful:
· CVS, Subversion
· Mac OS X
· VMWare
