For more information, please visit www.prudential.com UNIT DESCRIPTION The Treasurer's Department of Prudential Financial (Prudential) has an opening in its Corporate Finance Group (CFG). CFG is primarily responsible for the development of financial policy for the Company, including policies governing capital management, liquidity and borrowing for Prudential Financial, Inc. and its subsidiaries. CFG plays a major role in the development and implementation of legal entity and Company-wide capital and financing plans. These plans are developed in partnership with the business groups and the other financial management disciplines, and are tailored in such a way as to allow the businesses units to achieve their objectives in the context of the company's overall risk, regulatory and ratings objectives. JOB DESCRIPTION The individual will support the Vice President and the Senior Associate (Director) of Capital Management (including Required Equity and Economic Capital), Rating Agencies and Competitor Analysis within the Treasurer's Corporate Finance Group. Required Equity is the process by which the Company currently allocates capital to each of its businesses. The responsibilities of the individual will include supporting the following functions: * Coordination, analysis and enhancement of the Capital Management forecasting and reporting processes. * Coordination of information for the Rating Agencies including periodic review of rating agency models, preparation of materials for annual reviews, quarterly calls and meetings, and responding to data requests from the Rating Agencies. * Manage inventory of Guarantees & Support Agreements and perform various analysis relating to Prudential's potential exposure and potential capital charges * Assist with the assembly and review process of the Annual Capital Plan * Conduct analysis of financial statements & strategies for key competitors. * Provide support for other requests from senior management as needed. Credit research experience a plus. * Exceptional modeling skills are required. * Strong quantitative, financial analysis and analytical skills. * Familiarity with statutory accounting principals desirable. * Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment. * Team player, but ability to be productive independently. * Solid interpersonal and communications skills and ability to interact with all levels of senior management. * At least 5 years work experience in finance and/or accounting.
