JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Manager/Generalist will be responsible for administering human resources policies, programs and practices: including planning, organizing, developing, implementing, coordinating, and directing human resources-related activities for the business unit. This position is located in our Fargo, ND office and has responsibility for the Fargo, Birmingham, AL, and Cotuit, MA locations with a combined total employee base of approximately 120 employees, most which reside in Fargo.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · Acts as a senior level advisor on human resources issues to business leadership team and employee base.
· Maintains current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources. Maintain personnel records.
· Handle employee relation situations, provide coaching and counseling, and conduct exit interviews. Advise senior management of recurring or serious issues.
· Prepare and maintain the Annual Action Plan for responsible office locations.
· Works with management to define staffing plans and develops and administers an effective recruitment program.
· Prepare job postings, obtain approvals, and post internally and externally. Recruit, interview, and select employees to fill vacant positions. Process pre-employment background checks. Conduct new employee orientation.
· Train employees in various company required training processes and programs.
· Assist in the administration of wage, salary, and job classification programs, which includes classifying and reclassifying positions and writing job descriptions.
· Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
· Present and coordinate annual benefits open enrollment process for responsible locations.
· Other duties/projects as assigned.
SKILLS
Required:
· General knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel administration.
· Working knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of Human Resources.
· Ability to apply and adapt practices and techniques to the special requirements of senior management.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff and employees.
· Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and instill trust within the organization.
· Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), MS Outlook skills.
· Knowledge and use of a web based performance/merit system and SharePoint.
· HRIS software experienced, SAP preferred.
· Strong customer service skills.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
· A bachelor’s degree in a Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline preferred.
· PHR certification desirable.
EXPERIENCE
· Minimum of five years' human resources generalist/management experience preferably in the software/technical industry. Experience with multi-function and multi-state organizations. Willingness to travel as needed to support remote locations and to attend corporate programs.
