HR - Client Consultant
HR- Client ConsultantSunTrust Bank has a current opportunity for a Banking Group Human Resources Client Consultant. This position can be located in Durham or Charlotte, North Carolina. The Banking Group HR Client Consultant will provide strategic HR support to two Mid-Atlantic Regions (Central Carolina and Meck/ SC); brokers other HR services in support of the Regional business initiatives. Responsibilities include serving as an HR consultant to assigned managers to enhance team effectiveness, improve employee engagement and drive organizational change through the implementation of business plans. Supports management in the on-going assessment of environmental and employee climate issues and works to maintain a developmental culture. Facilitates the brokerage of HR services for assigned client group and provides support for HR programs and initiatives, ensuring HR initiatives are implemented. Provide management coaching and insights that help business leaders make the right decisions; includes acting as sensor for the organization and assisting with interventions that enable the effectiveness of the Management team to improve workplace quality and employee engagement. Execute people initiatives (ex. Reduction in force, new staffing model, reorganization) in support of business strategy by employing project management skills and: engaging HR Partners, identifying talent initiatives for critical workforce segments, managing risk and identifying solutions to support the business objectives, implementing action plans, employing organizational change management techniques. Consults with assigned managers on management-related or Human Resources-related issues, marshalling HR Partners for specialized expertise. Acts as a broker of HR-related services by connecting the business to whatever resources it needs and assures the receipt of quality support and solutions. Provides HR consultation to assigned client, assessing emerging trends, insuring follow-up, collaboration or escalation with appropriate HR Partner. Provides information sessions or manager training relative to HR policies, procedures and emerging trends. Support major HR initiatives. SunTrust is seeking candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent and 4 or more years of broad HR experience to include HR operations, compensation policy and practice, staffing policy and practice, with emphasis on management and employee performance counseling, HR consulting, execution of initiatives/projects. Requires strong organizational and planning skills; able to balance multiple priorities, define own work plans and tasks while executing against defined parameters. Experience providing team and management counsel for stronger individual and team performance. Demonstrated ability to build strong interpersonal and business relationships, inspiring trust and maintaining high standards of personal integrity and confidentiality. Ability to manage conflict, addressing conflict directly and constructively; focusing on issue resolution and negotiating win-win outcomes. Exhibits excellent listening skills as well as verbal and written communication skills; can effectively present information to a diverse group of people. Adaptable and resilient under pressure. Strong matrix management skills and ability to work within the SunTrust Operating model. Strong Microsoft Office skills, with specific emphasis on Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills, and ability and willingness to create documents and presentations with limited administrative support. Prefer banking knowledge and/or deep understanding of assigned work unit.
