BMO Capital Markets is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HR BP) to support its US businesses based in Chicago. The HR BP partners with and supports Senior HR Business Partners in the Investment Banking Group in the development of integrated HR solutions to business needs, in which human capital is leveraged and organizational effectiveness is increased. Build strong relationships with clients and HR colleagues to ensure the needs of the business, strategies, workforce realities and upcoming changes are well understood and incorporated into business strategies, plans and programs.
• Under the guidance of the Sr. HR Business Partner, designs, develops and implements HR initiatives that support the client effort to achieve specific business objectives.
• Ensures that enterprise standard programs are applicable to the line and customized to meet specific client requirements.
• Project manages and co-ordinates key HR initiatives to their successful and timely completion. Development of project plans including resource requirements, timelines, etc participates in research and preparation of assignment proposals/ presentations with a one year timeframe (e.g., HR succession and talent planning).
• Partners with Sr. HR Business Partners in the delivery of BMO Capital Markets HR initiatives and services to LOB clients; including Compensation Programs, Annual Employee Survey, Diversity Initiatives, and Organizational Design and Effectiveness.
• Works collaboratively with Workforce solutions to provide interpretation of and reporting on various HR data requirements (i.e., Learning, Diversity) and Management Information.
• Partners with Sr. HR Business Partners and Client group to lead cultural change and provide change management support.
• Delivers HR related training to line groups
• Apply a holistic approach to HR by applying knowledge of HR practices and legislation (including performance management, employee relations, rewards and recognition, organizational development, HR planning and staffing, workplace equality, change management and industrial relations) to situations in a timely and effective manner. Escalates and refers clients/cases as appropriate.
• Educate clients on the HR Information Services and other services available to them.
• Bachelor Degree in HR or related Business field
• 5 years of hands-on Human Resources experience, experience in an investment banking environment preferred
• In depth knowledge of HR practices, policies and employment legislation
• Comfortable working in matrix structures and experience with HR Business Processing Outsourcing models
• Demonstrated confidence and presentation skills
• Ability to prepare professional presentation materials
• Proven skills in project management and communication.
• Strong team player and work ethic
• Ability to prioritize based on multiple client deliverables
• Ability to work independently and in a team
