Description:Wholesale Lending is the channel through which ING Bank originates loans from Loan Brokers. This function includes origination, underwriting, processing, closing and booking to the Bank's loan servicing system. Wholesale Loan Operations is the department within Wholesale Lending that comprises processing, closing and booking. The Closing unit is responsible for the preparation of loan documents and the funding of loans in accordance with the Policies and Procedures established by Wholesale Loan Operations. Job Summary:The Loan Closer is responsible for the completion of the loan closing process for Wholesale loans. Responsibilities include generating complete and accurate closing documents in a timely manner, providing status information to Settlement Agents, preparing and initiating wire requests for loan proceeds, reviewing HUD1 for compliance and acceptance, reviewing executed loan document packages for completion and acceptance, and notifying Settlement Agents of deficiencies. Essential Functions:* Prepare loan documents within department guidelines/standards ensuring accurate delivery to closing agents.* Calculate and prepare wire requests for loan proceeds.* Review HUDs for accuracy and compliance. Complete the HUD process, including working with 3rd party vendor to obtain HUDs and confirm final funding figures prior to closing.* Review executed loan documents for completeness and compliance.* Provide internal and external customer service by phone, mail, fax or email.* Demonstrate proficiency in standard Closing practices.* Achieve and maintain performance standards as required to meet the Closing Unit's service level agreements. * Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to as outlined in the Secured Lending Policy and any and all Operations and Closing Procedures.* Participate in various department projects and cross-train for additional closing responsibilities.* Identify and communicate opportunities to improve processes and systems. * Contribute in the ongoing development of the Closing Unit and Wholesale Loan Operations to maintain/improve the level of quality and productivity.Qualifications:* 2 to 5 years related work experience in residential loan processing/closing* Mortgage and Home Equity product knowledgeEducation and/or Certifications:* A post-secondary education in related field is a plus.Technical skills and abilities:* Computer literate * Attention to detail* Ability to work independently* Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills* Knowledge of the industry* Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-task environmentWorking Conditions:* Fast-paced, high volume production environment* May be required to work over 40 hours as needed, including nights and weekends* Extensive computer usageSalary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceING DIRECT offers one of the best benefits plans around, providing medical and dental health coverage; flexible spending accounts; 401K retirement plans and fitness programs.Job Location: Los Angeles, CAJob Number: 6290Company Profile:We're on a mission to lead Americans back to saving and are looking for some people who share that passion to join our team.
