Foreclosure Specialist - Collections, Headquarters
Provide guidance to all Credit Union departments and staff in the policies and procedures regarding Mortgage Loss Mitigation and Foreclosure. Make decisions concerning policies and procedures regarding Mortgage Loss Mitigation and Foreclosures. Make recommendations to management concerning strategies, policies and procedures pertaining to Mortgage Loss Mitigation and Foreclosures minimizing losses, increasing recoveries. Provide monthly statistical data to management. Duties include but are not limited to the management of the following: delinquent mortgages, short sales, foreclosure actions and REO properties and other duties that are assigned by supervisor or management. Complete mandatory Credit Union classes on an annual basis and extra continuing education courses.
High School Diploma or equivalent; 2-5 years consumer collection experience; be knowledgeable in debtor/ creditor collection law, Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Florida Statutes, knowledge of Foreclosure Law and proceedings, fundamental knowledge of Federal Bankruptcy Law; have effective negotiation skills in the handling of unusual, difficult and advance collection problems and situations using sound judgment; exhibit the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally; have excellent organizational and analytical skills; intermediate operational knowledge of general office and PC equipment and the use of automated collection software required; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include evenings and / or Saturday hours; must be able to bend, kneel, stretch, see, hear and speak English fluently and professionally; be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds; bilingual desired.
