Financial Officer I
The incumbent collects, researches, and analyzed statistical and financial data for short-term and strategic financial planning and reporting. Prepares financial and accounting policies, reports, and statements. Develops new or revised policies, procedures, and reports, which provide effective financial planning, accounting and reporting of financial information. Coordinates/analyzes/prepares monthly forecasts for assigned units, the preparation of management reports, and contributes to the preparation/analysis of strategic and operating plans to ensure the development of financial objectives for the department and Corporation. Provides financial and statistical data to be used in special projects as required by the unit/section. Prepares financial statements and reports. The incumbent primarily works independently on recurring reports and projects. The supervisors assign additional tasks, but do not usually provide a detailed schedule of accomplishments. Only exceedingly complex problems are expected to be referred to the supervisor. Most information is obtained through research from financial statements, published reports and computer listing. The incumbent may request information from peer staff within the Finance Department, other departments and subsidiaries. This contact occurs to clarify information required to complete assignments.
Mininum Education: BA/BS in accounting or other related field; Preferred Education: BA/BS in accounting or other related field; Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of financial analysis and/or financial services experience; Preferred Experience: 4 years of financial analysis and/or financial services experience.
