Bank of the West seeks a Finance & Accounting Manager to manage the team within the Human Resources division. Provides team direction, planning and financial expertise while developing business partnerships with interdependent departments. Identifies opportunities for analysis and influence as it relates to the Bank’s Compensation and Benefits expenses; and provide related support to divisional executives.

In this emerging role, you will: Manage various HR Finance, Accounting, and Reporting functions such as: analysis of bankwide compensation and benefits spending, GL account reconciliation and certification, evaluation and resolution of account variances and/or discrepancies, payments to benefits providers, and documentation and organization of the team’s work. Manage budget activities including the creation of budgeting tools, communication, and analysis. Monitor division expenses and evaluates, researches, and resolves variances as they occur. Lead the creation of a monthly HR Finance variance report/presentation. Provide oversight for and may participate in the creation of HR Metrics reporting. Provide commentary for monthly FTE and HC related reporting. Partner with corporate finance to report on compensation and benefits spending variances. Develop the HR Finance & Accounting team skill set.

Minimum requirements: 5 – 7 years combined experience in accounting, finance, and/or human resources 2 plus years of management or supervisory experience

Preferred requirementsAdvanced Excel skills Intermediate Word and PowerPoint skills Basic MS Access Skills BS in business, finance, or accounting or equivalent experience Experience with Hyperion and/or PeopleSoft HRMS is a plus
