ENT RISK REPORTING BUS ANLYST

The primary objective is to meet the informational needs of the group in a timely manner. Manage the on-going collection and analysis of key credit and market risk data from a variety of sources and validate its accuracy. Oversee production of graphs and basic trend analysis performed by junior analysts. Ensure the monthly and quarterly preparation and production of key risk reports for analysis and reporting are timely. Work with group head in the development of risk new reporting and analysis. Requires proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Business Objects queries, good interpersonal skills, and must be well organized.
Major ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the timely production of routine monthly and quarterly reports that summarize the Bank?s credit and market exposure. Occasionally deadlines are tight. Oversee the appropriateness of period-to-period trend analysis prepared by junior analysts. Monitor and research emerging trends to report to group head. Participate in the development of new analysis and reporting to meet emerging risks. This will include working closely with other departments to ensure the most appropriate data is sourced and standardized. Responsible for attesting that certain key loan and market risk totals prepared by department's junior analysts are reconciled to the Controller's department on certain loan and market balances to the general ledger when necessary. Ensure that data received, or created, are effectively controlled and maintained in accordance with Bank policies. Control and dispose of sensitive data and confidential information in accordance with the Corporate Code of Conduct policies. Establish and maintain a library of department reports and those received from other areas. Follow up on any late reporting and raise issues to group head as necessary. Participate in risk reporting needs to the Bank?s parent and its regulatory agency as requested. This includes developing new data sources and analysis for junior analyst to implement. Prepare the more advanced graphs and trend analysis on credit and market risk for both monthly and quarterly reporting. There will be occasional special analysis and research required that will require hands-on involvement. Requires knowledge of the banking industry products and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with economic capital calculations and loan accounting requirements desirable. Must able to work with minimal supervision and under deadlines. Has ability to prioritize and flex with pressures created by a production environment. Able to provide supervision and direction to junior analysts. Proficient ability to design and develop spreadsheets, databases, and custom report writing for self and others. Comprehensive knowledge of Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Business Objects to query manipulate data. Knowledge of Calypso, Optics, and other market risk systems a plus. Typically has 5 or more years of similar data gathering and report development in a financial institution. Requires a 4-year degree with a major in finance, business, or economics major. An MBA or professional designations are a plus."
