Corporate Attorney

We currently have an outstanding opportunity available for a Corporate Attorney who will provide legal support at our Rosemont, IL headquarters.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Develop, maintain and communicate policies and procedures regarding legal services.
• Provide counsel and support to the banking corporation on the effective mitigation of legal risk.
• Prepare, review, analyze and negotiate contractual agreements and other related legal documents.
• Actively participate in the formulation and execution of negotiating strategy.
• Work with the purchasing manager on administering the contract approval process.
• Interact and coordinate legal activity with Taylor Capital Group’s general counsel.
• Provide counsel to business units regarding lender and borrower agreements, loan structure and alteration to standard form of agreement.
• Provide counsel regarding matters of default.
• Provide counsel to the bank regarding questions on out-of-the-ordinary transactions.
• Receive and review legal notice served upon the banking corporation; provide counsel to management regarding the corporation’s duty to respond.
• Manage litigation by actively participating in the setting and reviewing of strategy as well as in the formulation and review of the probability of adverse ruling.
• Provide counsel to the bank regarding insurable risk; review and negotiate insurance policies.
• Manage departmental staff and oversee budgets.
Qualified candidates will possess a Law degree, a license to practice law in the state of Illinois, as well as 3-5 years of experience in a law firm, bank regulatory agency or corporate legal department. Strong negotiation, organizational and analytical skills are essential for success in this role. Experience in the banking industry is a plus.
