Corporate Actions

Position will interact and provide support to numerous teams and departments within the organization, including Security Master, Portfolio Accounting, and Trade Settlement.  Builds cooperative and professional internal/external relationships, and utilize all available resources throughout the organization, to achieving group and client goals.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
" Research and review more complex corporate action events utilizing the database system. Work with vendor feeds, agents, and custodians to confirm rates, dates, and terms of the offer.
" Identify eligible holders and prepare and distribute notifications pertaining to complex corporate market events.
" Solicit and update client's responses to database system. 
" Monitor voluntary responses and execute client elections by instructing custodian banks.
" Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, custodians, agents, and internal departments, etc.
" Complete all required reconciliations by appropriate deadlines. 
" Monitor corporate actions for payment, reconcile to ensure accurate entitlement received, allocate to internal accounts. 
" Research and resolve complex issues relating to assigned. Contact internal departments and external contacts when necessary to resolve corporate actions issues.  Resolve discrepancies and take action on routine matters and inquiries from external clients and internal departments.  Escalate more complex issues following procedures to ensure timeliness and accuracy of processing.
" Interface with clients and other departments on routine matters and inquires
" Perform various related auditing functions.
" Assist with other related duties as required: ad hoc reporting / projects
" Understand and manage risks and controls within group functions.

INDEPENDENT ACTION:
" Performs work within established guidelines and according to specific procedures.
" Handles independent interaction with client contacts while escalating problems to immediate supervisor.

MINIMUM JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
" Bachelor's degree with emphasis in finance, accounting, or economics or equivalent work experience in finance or accounting.
" 1-3 years related experience in 1 or more areas of expertise i.e. corporate actions, securities processing, portfolio accounting and reconciliation, account transitions, pricing, operations audit, etc.
" Detailed understanding of operations and financial services.
" Strong attention to detail and the ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment.
" Excellent customer service, communication (verbal and written), organizational and problems solving skills.
" Ability to work in a team, provide support to coworkers to ensure the daily workload is completed. Takes initiative and contributes to the success of the group.
" Ability to balance workload and work in a deadline oriented position.
" Computer proficient including spreadsheet and database applications.  Key applications include Bloomberg, XSP (Xcitek), Portia, FT Interactive, DTC, etc.
