Controller with CFO Growth Path

Clearent is a later stage start up that has grown from $0 to $5.0 million in run rate revenue in less than 18 months. We are currently enjoying >50% quarter over quarter growth. This is an opportunity to join a “best in class� management team with a winning strategy and highly differentiated solution in the financial services sector.You will report to the CEO, whose background includes Big 4 accounting, M&A, structured finance and a track record of entrepreneurial success. The CEO is looking for an experienced, confident controller who can be groomed to take on the CFO role in the next few years.Your role includes accounting, financial & managerial reporting, due diligence and pricing analysis for customer proposals. You must be capable of building a finance and accounting team as company progress dictates.Specific Duties & Responsibilities: Perform, and later manage, day-to-day accounting operations Prepare detailed budgets and forecasts Closely analyze monthly results for trends Pro-actively recommend ways to improve profitability Manage contract negotiations Approve customer proposal pricing Hire and train accounting personnel over time Manage annual audit Manage benefits and insurance Assist in acquisition due diligence Ensure adequate controls to safeguard assets Grow to accept additional duties involving credit, risk, compliance, etc.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting 5-8 years experience in public or corporate accounting required Willingness to take on new challenges and wear many hats Excellent verbal, written and computer skills required Small company experience and CPA both highly desirable Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail Ability to partner with members of the senior management team Must have earned at least $80,000 annual salary previously
