Directly and through subordinates, responsible for the successful day-to-day production of the department. The Underwriting Manager directly supervises the staff of underwriters and processors. Ensures that the SLA with the branches and customers is consistently met and exceeded as well as making sure the loans are in compliance with government regulations and the Bank's standards. Assists the Consumer Lending Portfolio Manager in ensuring that the Bank's pricing and products are competitive.

Bachelor's degree in related field OR any combination of experience, training, or education. Three to five years Consumer Lending underwriting and processing experience or any combination of education, training and experience that will provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Thorough knowledge and practical application of Consumer Lending policies, practices, procedures and regulations. Excellent working knowledge of banking operations. Excellent leadership skills and abilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to work independently or in a team environment. Able to meet deadlines and work with critical timelines. Able to make critical decisions for the internal and external customer. Must be customer focused with an ability to successfully resolve issues. Excellent analytical skills for assessing internal and external customer needs. Pc proficient with knowledge of MS Office applications, e-mail, inter/intranet and banks A.U.S.
