Commercial Loan/Business Development Officer

Job Purpose:

Develops business and creates lending opportunities by identifying and building rapport with potential customers; closing sales and contracts.

Duties:

* Identifies potential customers by researching business opportunities; tracking business actions, announcements, plans, trends, and statistics.

* Develops rapport with potential customers by calling on prospects; receiving proposals and business plans; attending community and business functions.

* Closes deals by exploring strengths and weaknesses of proposals, financials, and business plans; explaining benefits of a business relationship with the bank; negotiating and concluding contracts and agreements.

* Develops corporate marketing effort by reporting competitor's actions and tactics; coordinating marketing programs; recommending marketing strategies.

* Develops products by examining product history and results; analyzing adjustments; recommending changes.

* Prepares employees to present products and services by conducting training sessions.

* Protects the bank's value by keeping information confidential.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in trade shows and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

* Accomplishes bank mission by completing related results as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

Formal Credit Training Program is a plus
