Command Center Lead
Description:Job Summary:The Command Center Lead will assist in the running and management of the Command Center and all related systems for the bank. It is the monitoring unit for all operational processing and facilities related functions of the bank. This includes availability of all core banking systems, servers and processes that support and maintain the bank running on a 24x7 timeframe.The Command Center Lead is responsible for the supervision of Associates and the day-to-day operations of the Command Center. They serve as the escalation point and central coordinator of incident response efforts for serious outages and service disruptions to company systems. This individual should be equally knowledgeable in both UNIX and Windows environments, and exhibit a solid understanding of networks. Prior experience in the practices of enterprise-level network monitoring is desired along with a solid understanding of Data Center Management principles. Strong verbal and written skills are essential; this individual must be able to clearly communicate to a diverse audience including executives. This job requires shift work and the individual will be on a rotating schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.Essential Functions:Supervise Command Center shifts ensuring successful dispensation of duties.Data Center Management functions such as computer operations, data center security, resource and asset management, and participation in Change Control, Incident Management, and Problem Management processes. Includes participation with all data center moves/adds/changes, scheduled maintenance and downtime, and crisis response.Management and monitoring of backend banking applications, infrastructure, and operations.Monitoring of data integrity for all process flows.Performance analysis.Network traffic monitoring.Intrusion detection monitoring.Batch/Job scheduling and completion monitoring. Troubleshooting and resolution of failed jobs in conjunction with other IT departments.Application troubleshooting and analysis.Incident response documentation, communication, and coordination.Emergency Response documentation and organization.Development and enforcement of Data Center Operations procedures, including backup operations.Communication of system and service availability.Configuration, maintenance, administration, and enhancement of all Command Center toolset applications.Management of escalation processes to ensure efficient, timely, high quality support is provided in response to any inquiry or problem received.Vendor management for all Data Center related operations.Mentoring, coaching, and educating other Command Center Associates.Work with IT Security coordinator to ensure the physical and logical stability, reliability, confidentiality and integrity of ING DIRECT's systems is in accordance with ING DIRECT policies, procedures and guidelines.Other duties as requested or assigned.Qualifications:3-4 years work experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Data Center Operations role.Education and/or Certifications:Post Secondary or University education or equivalent work experience required.Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification required.Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) required.At least one of the following: Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or a major Unix or Linux administration.Certification at the Associate level by Data Center University required.Help Desk Institute Support Center Analyst certification required.Other Technical Training as needed.Technical skills and abilities:Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.Ability to communication clearly in written and verbal form.Solid problem solving abilities.Logical thinker, step oriented problem solving.Solid technical troubleshooting skills.Project Management experience a plus.Experience in assisting with the development and documentation of Network Operations Center or Data Center Management process, policy, and procedures.3-4 Years operational and administrative experience with networking monitoring and management applications such as: Big Brother, Nagios, SiteScope, Tidal Job Scheduler, HP Openview, MRTG, Q Pasa, CISCO IDS, Foglight, or similar applications.3-4 Years experience installing, administrating or supporting various network operating systems such as: Windows, Unix, SCO, LINUX, SUN, DOS.3 Years experience reading and troubleshooting with various scripting languages such as: Perl, SHELL, PHP, Batch Scripting.3 Years experience with performing foundational DBA functions or support of various database platforms such as MySQL, Mumps, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server.Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceING DIRECT offers one of the best benefits plans around, providing medical and dental health coverage; flexible spending accounts; 401K retirement plans and fitness programs.Job Location: St. Cloud, MNJob Number: 5856Company URL: http://www.ingdirect.comCompany Profile:Why join the ING DIRECT team?
