C++ Trading Systems Developer

Linux Systems Engineer with Java Experience

Our client, a leading trading firm, is looking for a Linux Systems Engineer.  The person in this position will be supporting distributed Unix applications, and will be responsible for building out and supporting the Unix applications within the development, QA, certification, performance, disaster recovery, and production environments. You will have daily interaction with the development and QA teams to identify requirements and recommending solutions or design alternatives.  Will also be responsible for writing and maintaining UNIX scripts. Must be a motivated team player, and have excellent customer service and communications skills. The qualified person must have Java experience, and will be expected to understand and support components based on Java  / J2EE based frameworks.The position also requires occasional weekend work, along with a rotational pager duty once every 3 months or so.

Requirements:

*  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
*  5+ years experience as a Linux Systems Administrator or as a Support Specialist for Linux based applications
*  Proven expertise in Java and Java related technologies
*  Red Hat Engineer Certified and/or ITIL  preferred
*  Strong knowledge of application server technologies (BEA WebLogic preferred)
*  Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, self motivator
*  Experienced in Linux internals with a working knowledge of Perl or Unix Shell scripts
