Building Engineer II

Job Description and Duties:
At a journeyman level, provides a full range of building and/or equipment installation, preventive and corrective maintenance, construction, and alteration service in all areas or may specialize in one of the following: mechanical, electrical circuits for receptacle and lighting, plumbing, fire protection, carpentry, air conditioning, and/or building surfaces.  May manage specific repair assignments. Interprets and fabricates unique items for operational use.  Demonstrates and instructs less experienced staff. Performs as backup to other areas as needed.
1.  Candidates should have knowledge of and demonstrated skill in plumbing, mechanical and basic refrigeration used in the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and systems, dependent upon area assigned. 
2.  Participates and guides others in the shutdown, repair, equipment testing and activation of systems and/or equipment. 
3.  May maintain the supply of electrical power to the building and/or plant operations as assigned.  Wires and maintains 110, 220, and 480 volt electrical systems.Knowledge of National Electric Code and industrial electricity theory and practice depending upon area assigned.
4.  Knowledge of mathematics theory including algebra, subtraction, addition, multiplication, and division.
5.  Services Bank operating departments and/or plant operations as assigned.
6.  Schedules and performs preventive maintenance on various building automation systems by inspecting for worn or broken parts, lubricating, adjusting, calibrating, etc.  Utilizes mechanical and electronic testing equipment and/or systems to isolate problems.  Operates power or hand tools to complete specific repair jobs.

7.  Ability to perform duties the require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings and climbing hand over hand, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working on ladders and lifts. 
8.  Communicates with customers to obtain work orders to document service, labor and parts details.  Obtains purchase order requisitions from customers to acquire parts from outside vendors.  Contacts manufacturers or authorized representatives to obtain technical service documentation and schematics. Maintains computer-based files for equipment repair and maintenance.  Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. 
Experience/Education:
