Application Server Administrator

This is a new full-time position on the Content and Workflow Services Infrastructure team of US Bank Technology and Operations Services.  This position will provide production support for servers running a combination of custom applications developed using vendor supplied application interfaces.  The applications support important day to day operations of the bank such as consumer and commercial lending and leasing.    An in-depth knowledge and experience of Windows server products is very important for this position.  Experience installing, maintaining and support vendor supplied software on Windows servers is also important, but not critical.  Experience supporting custom applications would also be a plus.    More specifically the person in this position:  Provides production support, technical support and application support for custom servers systems.   Installs, configures and maintains application software in a large enterprise oriented environment.  Implements complex application configurations and provides input into the design and deployment of those applications.  Monitors application software and hardware to ensure system availability.   Takes on-call support rotations and handles incident resolution during that time, and problem determination and resolution for incidents originating during that time.  Prepares and maintains system documentation and operating procedures.   Your Career is Here.Required Qualifications These are required qualifications. College degree or equivalent work experience. 2+ years experience working with server based applications. Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Windows server operating systems. Excellent trouble shooting and incident resolution ability.   Preferred Qualifications There are preferred but not required qualifications... Experience working in large mid-range environment with many shared resources. Experience administering, installing and maintaining custom software applications on mid-range systems. Excellent organizational and technical skills Excellent technical communication skills Demonstrated ability to analyze technical information, to evaluate products, services and vendors, and to make recommendations. Experience designing and implementing complex software configurations. Monitored mid-range server software and hardware to ensure system availability. Evaluated, built, tested and migrated systems software for the mid-range servers. Provided incident resolution, problem determination and resolution service. Prepared and maintained system documentation and operating procedures.   Optional Qualifications These are optional, nice to have qualifications. Experience with LDAP and/or applications integrated with LDAP, either eDirectory or Active Directory. Experience with WebSphere based, or other application server based, application software. Experience with IBM/FileNet and/or Captaris/RightFax.
