This team provides the steer for major programmes within IBD IT and ensures that the applications are designed with quality and cost at the forefront. The role reports to the head of technical design within the IT strategy teamScope and Impact:The IT strategy team has overall responsibility and accountability for the IT architecture used by the UBS Investing Banking business. The technical leads will act as designers and for new and existing systems within the business line. Key areas of impact right now are: Sharepoint/content management Outlook integration CRM technologies Contact management/social networkingGoing forward, we expect further work in telephony integration and RSS. Responsibilities: To conceptualise, design and assist in the implementation of: new and existing systems middleware data warehouse production architectures Working with the infrastructure team, to set direction of the technical platform and own the delivery roadmap. To work with IT and business management to establish requirements and service levels for new and existing technology and systems. To review new and existing systems in the context of the design and engineering standards agreed within the department. To represent ER&D IT in the wider bank technology processes.Candidate Profile:- Candidates will be IT architects with significant hands on experience of the design and implementation of strategic architectures within a business critical environment - Financial services knowledge is highly desirable but not essential. We seek a financial services attitude that combines a can do motivation with a structured approach to delivery and quality - Good communication skills and a high degree of credibility are imperative - Ability to structure thinking into a concise Functional, Technical, Operational and Data architecture clearly digestible by other members of the team. - International focus/profile, global expertise ideal - An appreciation and enthusiasm to work with both established and new technology - Ability to act both at broad level and hands-on when appropriate - A proven track record of successful systems design and developmentSuccessful candidates will have a depth and breadth of technology skills that includes some of: Object Oriented Modelling (UML), Development Methodologies, Database Technologies (Oracle, Sybase), Data Modelling and XML, web services, data warehousing, Middleware Messaging Technologies (e.g. Webmethods, TIBCO, MQ series, etc.).
