Accountant - Regulatory Reporting

Position Summary: 

Performs a variety of accounting functions including reconciliations, posting and verifying entries to the general ledger, proof and aging reporting, and assisting in closing the monthly general ledger.

 RequirementsProficiency with Excel.Ability to make sound judgments on a day-to-day basis regarding assignments.Good verbal communication skills.Knowledge of accounting principles.Overtime required on an as-needed basis.

 

Essential Duties and Critical Responsibilities:Prepare daily General Ledger accounting entries.Analyze and Prepare Intercompany Elimination entries.  Assist in closing monthly ledger.Reconcile a variety of general ledger accounts.Review general ledger activity in selected accounts.Perform account research as necessary.Prepare expense analysis report on selected accounts.Prepare Proof and Aging report.Assist in accounts payable review.Assist in cash management review and release bank-to-bank and customer wiresProcess Fixed Asset Acquisitions & Monthly DepreciationProcess Prepaid ExpensesProcess Bi-weekly 401KProcess Bi-weekly PayrollDownload Chase & FHLB Bank statementsReview and Clear outstanding G/L Suspense accountsConsolidate and Distribute monthly Financials Background/ExperienceBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance a plusPrior accounting experience
