Accountant I or II
General accounting position in stable organization reporting to accounting manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Identify and prepare routine journal entries. Maintain, reconcile, and analyze general ledger accounts. Prepare workpapers to support entries and analysis Prepare basic financial reports and statements. Instruct or assign work to accounting clerks and coordinate accounting matters with other departments. Conduct or participate in simple accounting projects, develop and recommend accounting methods and procedures. Communicate with internal and external personnel Work under general supervision Requirements include but are not limited to:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 1 to 3 years of accounting experience Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Ability to analyze problems or inquires Ability to speak and write effectively Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access) ERP system experience (Lawson, PeopleSoft, SAP) is a plus
Consideration for Accountant II will be given for 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience and demonstrated ability to handle more complex responsibilities.
